Progress on The Burnaby!

September was spent working on pouring the foundation footing and walls. This was followed by spraying waterproofing on the foundation. We then installed a drain mat and downspouts as well as connected to the utilities. Since the foundation is complete, we can now focus our efforts on the framing process which will start next week. Once this is complete, we will begin installing all of the windows throughout the frame and roofers will get started.

Totally floored.

Lots of new flooring trends going on right now. Reclaimed wood, large format tile in living areas, cork, cut and loop carpet and yes, even vinyl are making their ways onto designer’s pages. What are your thoughts? Personally, I’ve always been a fan of reclaimed woods. Scoot on over to HGTV to check out a slideshow of what’s hot right now.

Finding Your Inner Designer

Fixtures make the most of your kitchen. Pay attention to how they catch light, whether they are easily maintained and if they match the style of your architecture. You can always go a bit against the grain…but be careful to stray too far.

Update on The Carlisle!

This past month consisted of blowing in insulation, installing drywall, preparing the walls for paint, and installing the site-finished white oak hardwood floors. Our next steps will be installing the millwork/wainscoting and tile throughout the home. As seen in the picture of the dining room above on the left, the rooms in this home are flooded with an abundance of natural light. This is turning out to be a spectacular home on a gorgeous lot and we are still tracking to a completion date around the first of the year.

Almost finished in Laurelhurst!

We have entered into the final stages of building The Chadwick, Chaffey Building Group’s first home in the charming Laurelhurst neighborhood. Landscapers finished installing the irrigation system and planting the various flowers, trees and shrubs, including some stunning magnolia trees last week. All of the Jenn-Air® appliances are installed in the kitchen and we are preparing for the first finish coat on the site-finished red oak hardwood floors, and putting in the carpet. The next few weeks will be focused on cleaning and detailing the home in anticipation of our upcoming Grand Opening event which is slated to take place on October 28th. We are very excited to finish this home and present our new addition to the Laurelhurst community so be on the lookout for your invitation!

Our building permit was recently approved for The Easton, directly east of The Wescott.  We will commence our building process for this new, contemporary home next week.  Site excavation and foundation installation will go fast so look for this home to “come out of the ground” in the near future.

The Carlisle is structurally complete!

The Carlisle is structurally complete now that the framers have finished and exterior doors and windows are installed.  This home invites you to enter through the grand entrance of double front doors with glass panels and double sidelights.  In addition, we installed sliding glass “walls” with four stacking panels that open to both of the covered outdoor living areas.  The lower level slider produces a 12 foot opening and the main level slider opens 10 feet wide.  These sliders will allow for a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor living and entertaining.  Siders are still working their way around the exterior of the home.  The next step of our construction process will consist of drywall installation and taping and texturing the walls in preparation for painting.
